I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Timo. He was such an incredible force of nature. We met in Kyoto, and you know when you just connect with someone, and it's like you've known them for a hundred years? He blew me away with his knowledge of Japanese culture, his confidence, and his humility. He took me out for one of the greatest nights of my life in Kyoto, we ate the greatest steak in a place where foreigners were not served; he was welcomed and well respected. That was cool, but then, for karaoke, he sang the godfather theme, in Japanese, and HE NAILED IT. I mean, really, really nailed it. The resepect that he was shown, the admiration of all the people we met, he was like the mayor of Kyoto.

He was an outsider, and well liked in a culture that is hard to make inroads into. It was truly impressive to hang out with him.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was one of the most incredible people I have ever met on my travels, and the world is a lesser place without Timo. I will toast to him and his memory, and he will not be forgotten.
